The first month is a blur of new routines. A little planning keeps the logistics out of the way so you can focus on your studies and enjoy the experience.
Week one: essentials
Complete enrolment and orientation, collect your student card, set up a local phone plan and confirm your address. Register for health cover if required.
Week two: money and travel
Open a local bank account if appropriate and learn the public transport system. Explore the area around your campus and accommodation.
Weeks three and four: community
Join at least one club or society, meet your course advisers and find the library and support services. Homesickness is normal - reach out to friends and family regularly.
